Ridgewood Development offered optional home elevators in their planned 120 unit development, just outside of Trappe.
Condos tend to be vertically oriented.
Each unit was designed with the stairs winding around a 4-stop winding-drum Elevette to service the basement, 1st & 2nd floors, and the finished attic.
Buyers chose the elevator in 8 of the first 12 units built.
The other units are designed with the elevator shaft in the framing so the elevator can be installed as future need arises.
